Hello!  My name is Courtney Walsh and I am a member of the Class of 2012 and the current SOMA Treasurer.  As the Treasurer, it is my job to oversee the finances that allow our club to help send students to national AOA and SOMA conferences and do other activities that involve the community.  We also are making it a goal to involve students more in fundraisers in which they will benefit but also to expand our funding in hopes to make a bigger impact at the national level of SOMA.  We have hosted a spaghetti lunch that was an excellent way to keep students around the cafeteria enjoying lunch together in between classes for two days and hope to continue this in the fall.

As for my future plans, I look forward to working with our executive board and cabinet members to make this year extra memorable.  Osteoblast 2009 will be a big coming attraction in which we will welcome our incoming OMS-I students and also promote our clubs.  Other fundraisers this upcoming semester will include a LMU-DCOM night at a local resturant in which a percentage of the proceeds collected will go to our SOMA chapter.  If there are any suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me.
